After 15 years as owner of Mötesplatsen Swedish and Norwegian premium dating service, Schibsted have chosen to sell it to Hungarian Dating Central Europe, owned by CEO Peter Weiler and Russmedia Equity Partners.
The two companies will form a significant European premium online dating player with presence in 6 markets.

Dating Central Europe already operates Randivonal which is the Hungarian equivalent to Mötesplatsen. Both products were created at the age of pioneering internet, early start-ups utilizing the advancement of technology to help people bond and meet for meaningful relationships.
“We feel that the DNA of our companies are very similar, both growing a premium dating service over two decades. We are defending successfully a local premium market from international giants. We face the same challenges albeit in three different regions of Europe. I believe that while relying on international synergies our future is depending on local markets. We don’t plan to merge the platforms since each website needs to be relevant on the local environment, carrying cultural differences that we are proud of.
